So Mark, did you stumble on that Kelly at the midnight card show on December 1st? Did the UPS delivery guy show up at 1 am?

Finally arrived yesterday from tardy Heritage. This is truly a 1 of 1: single cards for each player in 104-card set for very first baseball card game, 1904, were made for the prototype--and the game never produced. And they only did the NL before quitting. I guess they were on sheets and then hand cut.

I grabbed one of the E96 cards last night as well - there were some nice ones available.
I'll take my 2's any day of the week which look like this - downgraded due to the touch of paper loss on the back (in Rossman's name)... Last edited by scooter729; 12-02-2013 at 11:49 AM. |

It's been some time since I bought vintage, but with my T207 tuffie in November, and now my key card for the T202 Cubs team set here in Dec (Thanks Joe!), I need to once again be careful of diving into the deep end!
![]() I seriously need to update my website... This one was love at first sight.

![]() If you factor out the cost to have the cards graded by SGC, the 20s and 30s were selling for about $20-35 each, not too shabby for cards with decent eye appeal. Last edited by tbob; 12-02-2013 at 07:45 PM. |

Thanks to some fellow collectors I have learned a bit about the postcard pictured below.
Translation on the front reads: USS Cleveland vs. Waseda University Big Baseball Match Commemoration (Victory Waseda) "The 2 cancellation dates are from the reign of Emperor Meiji (Hirohito's grandfather). The date on the postmark in the middle of the card is October 7, 1908 - the 41st year of the reign of Meiji. The postmark on the stamp is October 4th, so 2 different post offices cancelled the card. The addressee was in Tokyo." Also, I can zoom in and read USS Cleveland on the Jersey of the player standing in the middle of the field. The player getting tagged I can read "eda" on the jersey. Just a common--but in my view, one of the very best T3 (or any issue) image and color, and that's what counts for me, usually.
