Hi Joey, as you haven't gotten a response yet I will share my two earliest images of Aaron. The 1954 spring training image is not a wire photo and would be considered at Type 2 as that UPI stamp was first used more than two years after 1954. The image of Aaron being carried off the field on September 23, 1957, could be a Type 1? However, I believe that the use of the Wide World Photo stamp on the reverse was supposedly discontinued before the event the photo depicts. I have misplaced my Yee and Fogel book so I am uncertain. Because of this inconsistency I have no idea if it is a type 1 or type 2. As crazy as it may sound I really don’t care as I love both photos and have no intent to sell either.
I seem to remember that Ben has a beautiful minor league image of Aaron In Jacksonville. Hopefully he will share it. Last edited by 71buc; 11-15-2013 at 08:07 AM.
