Too bad. The best of the Sixties East Coast Bands during the psychedelic era. Very creative. First saw The Velvet Underground at the Grande Ballroom in the late sixties, tripping on 4 hits of Strawberry Double Dome..It was a life changing experience. Last saw Lou Reed on Fathers Day 2003, (a gift from my daughter)....one of the best concerts I ever saw/heard. That was at St. Andy's, (had some killer weed and a little hash and oil for that one). R. I. P. Lou..................p.s. If you have an unpeeled banana cover with the "torso" reverse........worth some big bucks.

Never saw Lou Reed in person, but the Underground was a truly original band. Sad news indeed....and that's too much acid!

Very, very bummed about this! He WAS NYC, especially the Village, where I live. VU and Nico, what an album.
I hope the Halloween parade is dedicated to him this year. RIP, Lou. |

One of the most interesting concerts I have ever been to was Lou Reed, Jim Carroll and Run/DMC at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic when he released New Sensations. It was sponsored by MTV as a NYC influences show. The whole crowd was there for Lou and had marginal patience for Run DMC. Great show, weird (and wired) crowd at a great venue.
RIP Lou Last edited by judsonhamlin; 10-27-2013 at 05:10 PM. |

Four hits seems like a lot to me...I thought one was more than I could handle.
