Glad to hear it was a good showing. It's nice to hear shows are picking up a little bit. As Rich mentioned in another thread, the local Dallas Card card show has grown a good bit recently. It's still very small, and there's not much, if any pre-war, but it's still fun to go to.....Sounds like Chantilly is doing fine...

Skipping White Plains for a change--rarely anything really new in pre-war, same old cards, yet high prices remain despite not selling for literally years. Even the big annual August show was blah.

I have to agree, same dealers from the LI shows that they run, there are a few different dealers at the White Plains show that don't come to the LI show do to expenses tolls, hotels food not cheap on Long Island. If you go to both you then know them all, not much new stuff unless you collect modern and prices are high.

I was at the White Plains show on Sunday. Some nice stuff but high prices. I wasn't too disappointed to come home with no cards and a pocket full of cash. Keep my powder dry for a future purchase

I did meet a kid at the show. It was fun talking to him. 10 years old and he collects T206 NY Giants with Piedmont 350 backs. He purchased a very nice Joe Doyle SGC 4. I had a Joe Doyle Sweet Cap PSA 4 with me to use as potential currency in case I found a card I wanted that cost more than I wanted to spend. We compared our cards and chatted T206 for about 30 minutes. Only 10 years old and the kid knows his T206.
I wish I got his name. He said he is on Net54 so maybe he will read this. |

I don't hardly ever got o White Plains but usually always go twice a year to the big shows at Hofstra each year. The majority of the time I go home with close to the same $ I walk in with. I usually spend the most at SGC's grading table dropping off my accumulated raw cards from ebay and here.
I wish some new pre war blood would start setting up at this show. I really don't understand why so many of them even bother when they have they're prices 175-300% of their value. I never see some of these guys sell anything. Seems like an awful lot of work to set up and everything to not sell anything. Very frustrating!

I was set up at White Plains with over 800 graded pre war cards. I was busy & sold quite a few graded T206 cards to many of the regular customer that usually attend the 3 day show. I try to keep my prices within reason. The 10 year boy from Connecticut that is mentioned in one of the threads attended the card show with his mother on Saturday & Sunday. He did bring a Joe Doyle SGC 50 to the card show where we worked out a trade.
