I believe this pic was taken in Weir, Kansas in 1920.
My great granddad is on the far left, bottom row. Does anyone know anything about any of the uniforms that you see? I think this is a photo from a "pick up" team...so I'm guessing the uniforms could be from anywhere. Just wanted to see if anyone had any interesting tidbits. I presume there's some writing on that sign they're holding...can't discern anything, even in the original. ![]() |

Great photo. These photos are almost impossible to identify. My great-grandfather is in the middle, front row.

Not a photo of my great grandfather (unless you want me to post his regimental photo from 1885), but my father in law, circa 1948

Are you skilled in the dark arts of Photoshop? Sometimes playing with "Curves" and "Levels" adjustments will bring details such as the writing out. If you send me a link to a hi-resolution scan (300 dpi is fine), I can give it a shot.

I gave it a shot, but couldn't get anything... not enough pixels there. If you have access to the photo and can do another scan at a higher dpi, I'm happy to try again.
Regardless, it's a great photo to have. Both of my parents are deep into the genealogy of the family (my mother is the President of their local Scandinavian Genealogical Society and is a very skilled researcher) and they've amassed lots of great old photos of my ancestors. |

I really enjoyed seeing the early 1900's baseball photos. This is a team photo with my grandfather (first row, lower left). Fort Wayne, Indiana circa 1906.
