I picked up a Civil War CDV with the back stamp from:
Anson's Metropolitan Hotel could this be from Cap's family tree ? |

Anson's is the photography studio name opposite the Metropolitan Hotel.........highly unlikely..........who knows....

That would be Rufus P. Anson a fairly highly regarded photographer of the mid to late 19th century. It's possible he is a cousin of some degree to Cap, Rufus is from Dutchess county, NY as was Cap's Grandfather.

That is correct, his father Henry was the founding father of the city. His father was also born in Dutchess county, NY. |
