wondering if anyone else ever had a similar experience. I bought this George Davis signed Goudey and already had a Bengough signed goudey personalized to the same person. Anyone ever INADVERTANLY by two cards from two different sources that originated from the same place.bengough signed.jpg

Thats one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.
Now you'll need to search for even more all signed for that one person! |

Sean,
Nice pickup. Maybe you should change your set collection to the 1933 autographed Goudey "to Jimmie Kahs" set. You already have 2. You're on your way ![]() Did you get it at the National? Mark

I'm loving your quest along with the other gentleman who is doing the 34 Goudey signed set. We all see autographs from the giants of the game but it's nice to see signed cards from other major leaguers of that era. Keep posting!

thanks! I stil have 68 more to go including lajoie, 4 ruths, and 2 gehrigs so the odds I will complete this set are pretty damn low. However, any help would be greatly appreciated

Sean,
That's a nice one. I think it's incredible and fantastic that you are 75% complete of that huge set. The Ruth's and Gehrig's come up here and there. Finding them isn't the issue. Affording the ridiculous prices is the problem. I do agree that that Lajoie will be mighty tough, to find or afford. My personal fav from my set is a tie between the Rip Collins I got from you and the Paul Waner. ![]() ![]() Also..You may want to look for a guy called TheShleps on the board. His name is Mike and seems like a nice guy. He had some 33 goudeys signed available for trade. Zork, The other guy is me. Thanks for the kind words. Mark

yeah that rip collins is awesome. Unblieveably, the guy i bought that from at the national in 2004 had TWO. I saw him again two years later but couldnt find it and the seller was kind of rude. That was the same year i saw a rube marquard signed cracker jack for $150 and dint buy it. UGH and a lefty o doul signed goudey that I stil need for $125. double UGH

Are there any (authentically) autographed Lajoie 1933 Goudeys extant?

Wow Sean that's really cool! I can see buying a few together from a collection, but it's amazing that you'd end up with two from different sources.
And OUCH on the Marquard and O'Doul. Guess that's one of those 'live and learn' situations. We all have them... I promise you're not alone. |

I can't remember seeing a Lajoie signed.
Sean, I hate those moments as well. i can think of a few myself. You remember them until you get the item later. Then you forget and do it again on something else. ![]()

Bob, I remember seeing one in an auction in the last ten years that was signed and dated on the front. Maybe I can dig it out of an old auction catalog. Jeff |

With Sean's permission and assistance I am preparing a blog post about his two "To Jimmy/Jimmie" cards and his 1933G auto set quest.
It'll probably be a day or two before I get it posted. You can access via the link below.
