I have never seen one in person but looking at scans they look like they are 2 parts. A photo attached to a backing can someone confirm it?

All I see is the same front view on each scan. Should have a goofy looking figure on the back side if I remember correctly. Leon may have one.

The Peck and Snyder cards are CDV's. (carte de viste)....and they are a photo pasted onto cardboard....the one the lady has is real....as is this one in my collection..

my bad...you guys are right..there were 2 kinds of Peck and Snyders....though mine is still a picture glued onto a thicker stock card.....I am doing 4 things at once....and just wasn't thinking. That is the first time I have ever made a mistake (in the last 10 minutes).....

Agreed that this card shouldn't reach 6 figures. I would see it going for high teens to low 20s depending on its condition.
OK, who else cringed at the "pushpin through the card" part of the story? I hope it was through the bag and not the card.

There is a guy who has had an overpriced (IMO), trimmed one on his ebay store for many months.

All the Peck & Snyders have a photo pasted to cardboard, which was the standard for almost all paper photos back then. In the 1800s the photo paper was so thin a supportive backing was required. Notice that all the 1800s photo cards have cardboard backing-- N172 & N173 Old Judges, Gypsy Queens, Kalamazoo Bats, Joseph Hall Cabinets, Four Base Hits, etc.

I actually exchanged emails with this woman back in April or May of last year when she put it on ebay and told her how rare it was. You could tell from the pictures on the ebay listing that it appeared vintage and not a reprint.

She decided to get it graded and then figure out what to do with it at a later date. I had not exchanged emails with her since then.

I just emailed her today and she responded that it will be a few weeks before it is put up on ebay. She also indicated she is suppose to be on the Jay Leno show around January 20th with it. Shortly after she listed it one in an auction sold ( I think it was Heritage) and she saw what that one went for so she had a good idea of what the value was. The one she had was in better condition.

Ok, I was just watching our local news and the lady was showing off the card and there was what appeared to clearly be a pin hole in the middle top of the card. Geez, I guess she actually did put a push-pin through it. If she only new how much money she may have just cost herself!

Rob, I think she makes up for it with all the publicity she's getting. While I think this is a much more interesting card than a T206 Wagner I never heard a word nationally on the last two Wagner's that popped up (The Beckett find and the card that sold in the Philip Weiss auction).
