Thanks to the Reading show, I have just completed my 1933 Goudey Set. Yea... I do not have the current SCD bible, my book store is surprisingly sold out. Could someone who has the book please tell me the value range listed for the set in all conditions. Also, the new Beckett value range too. Your help is much appreciated. Time to start 1934. |

If you give me an approximate grade average for the whole set I will give you the most accurate value of your set, does it include the Lajoie? |

I will respond to what you requested without asking condition or asking for an email. |

Thanks guys. No it doesn't include the Lajoie, unfortunately. The set is about 40% graded averaging 4.5, both PSA and SGC. The set is consistent and I am thrilled to finally have it complete minus the Lajoie. Thanks again to all the dealers at Reading who helped me fill in the holes. |

The totals, by grade, of the individual card values listed in PSA's Sports Market Report for the 1933 Goudey set are as follows: |

Bobby -- just curious, did you base your totals on the last sale recorded for each card, or on some kind of average of recent sales, in cases where you had more than one sale recorded for a particular card/grade? |

Ok, good. I like to look at averages because they tend to smooth out price differences due to cards that are unusually strong or weak for their grade, and other factors. In any case, it is interesting that SMR and VCP are reasonably close on the total values for the Goudey set. I think that suggests that while VCP reflects the reality of what is going on in the market, SMR remains one of the primary engines driving buyers' expectations, and thus the prices that are actually realized. |
