Due to the paper loss IMO, that card would not receive a higher grade by Sgc. |

I seriously doubt it would be a bump up due to the paper loss, as the others guys stated too. That is a perfect collector's card, imho. Great looking with just a little paper loss on the back that is mostly limited to blank areas....My perfect ones are a nrmt front with paper loss on a blank back. What more could a collector ask for? |

steve i agree on the chance, just pointing out sgc is more tolerant of paper loss these days. the brown is a happy medium, that's a 50++++++ in my book even with the paper loss whereas in the past sgc might not have agreed. |

...that Chance and Brown are disappointing and, unless erroneously graded, reflect a shift in SGC's grading consistency, which, of course, means they would be less consistent. |

Thats what I figured, I wasnt sure how tolerant they were these days on small paperloss. I still plan to cross it over just because I like the appearance of SGC holders better. Hopefully it will stay at a 30 after they get done with it! |

I could be wrong but the numbers on the flips of the Chance and Brown lead me to believe they were graded years back. |

Jeff, You are correct. The bar codes on Chance and Brown are longer than the shorter bar codes that SGC started using a few years ago. And of course, as of a few months ago, the newly graded cards can be identified by the back of the holder. |

This may be a dumb question, but is there any reason for the barcodes on the PSA and SGC holders? Is there some kind of scanning tool to verify the info on the label or something? |

jeff i did not know older sgc cards (with the new style flip) had the longer bar...then these would def be older cards. something new i learned and will keep an eye out buying sgc cards in the future. thanks! |
