past auction catalogs

anyone here keep their old auction catalogs? I am currently moving and am torn on whether or not to keep some of my past auction catalogs. I've kept the Halper auction catalog...any other catalogs worth keeping?

I keep them all. I enjoy looking back at them from time to time. And on occasion (particularly REA catalogs) they can be good reference materials. I try to remember to print the final prices when the auction is over and slip it into the catalog as well, but I sometimes forget.

I usually keep them. I print the results, and put them in the catalog and store them on shelves in the basement. I use them for records and track certain cards over the years. I am always going back to old catalogs for some reason.
They are a great reference.

I own, and actively buy, auction catalogs. You can never tell when some very small bit of info might jump up and help you, it might not happen; but if it does happen, wouldn't you rather have erred on the side of keeping the info?

Auction Catalogs are an invaluable reference tool.

Furthermore, they present the reader with the opportunity
to study both the history of the hobby and price trends.

Our collection of catalogs dates back to the 1960's
when a number of "retiring collectors" created their own
auction sales and mailed said "catalogs" to a small group
of collectors across the country.

The Richard Wolfer catalogs from the mid 1980's are wonderfully
illustrated and contain photographs of a number of pieces which
have not been on the public market since they auctioned by Wolfers.

There were also a number companies who briefly entered the baseball
business because they obtained an important collection. These include
a Detroit- based art dealer, http://www.dumouchelle.com/, and
two San Francisco firms whose doors closed back in the early 1990s/

We have well over 500 baseball auction catalogs in our collection.

I cut out the pictures of the cards from the catalogs & put them in top loaders or plastic sheets and it's almost as nice as having the actual cards.

perhaps you could start a grading/slabbing company for encapsulating Auction Catalogue pictures..  

I think I have a few I would like to submit..

Alan, along that lines, I have a large collection of autographed baseballs. The only problem is they blow off the mantle when someone opens the window.
