Looks legit from the scans, who would have this card that would make you wonder if it was real or not??

Prices for these are all over the place some folks pay big bucks and other folks can't stand them....I'd buy this as I like these...so I have a rough idea of price...

The auction is indeed gone from Ebay. I was watching it too. Next time I'll know to contact the seller direct. Seller definitely lost $$ as I would have bid higher then $300. Oh well.

Wow really on eBay and ended early backdoor style, nice touch.

Hey Jamie next time you're looking for an idea of a market value on a card perhaps just post a link to the auction and place a bid then let the auction run its course. Then when it says "blank bidder" won this item for "blank amount" you'll know exactly what it was worth.

Sellers don’t do themselves any favors doing this stuff, in fact Jamie is asking for a fair buying price the ironic thing is he paid the seller a far from a fair price or at least it was fair to Jamie and not to the seller.

Love to have a link, perhaps I can get a late bid in..LOL

Jeff - I know it wasn't yours; I just recall the seller had a weird habit of starting and stopping listings multiple times and some other fishy stuff went on including the Johnson episode. Curious where the card is now.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the card was ever sold. I remmeber the seller having a strong desire for the card to be appropriately exhibited. Perhaps it made its way to a museum like the one Bruce mentioned in NYC. Or to the HOF. Or to the collection of someone who offered to pay more. Either one.

“he told me he was going to get the card graded and relist.. I asked him how much to buy the card out right.. he said 300... I then posted the thread about is the card real and how much would it be worth...The auction was well over at this point and he did not end it early because of me... once I heard its worth well over 300 I sent paypal to seller and he explained my card has shipped out already...”

“Just didnt want people to think that I had the guy end it early to stop him from getting a higher price than what he thought it would go for... “


Jamie; good enough but come on guy just admit you swopped a nice deal; don’t paint yourself with the innocent brush.

Be proud you got a great card for a steal, and you certainly didn’t clue the seller in on this, and the last thing you would have wanted to happen was have this relisted graded. You also have posted this back and card twice in two different threads on this board plugging for answers…you got the answer you were looking for worth a lot more than he was asking and a lot less than you would have had to pay if the seller listed the card again graded.

End of story take it for what it is no need to spin it. Nobody ever just says beat you too it suckers, it's always some story of why they’re not a bad guy and it was just a lucky circumstance or it was the collectors wish as to why the auction ended and the item didn’t get relisted for those who were watching the auction. I wish once someone would just come clean and just blow raspberries in our faces and say haha beat you to it that would be refreshing at least.

I’ll keep an eye out on the BST for it Jamie, congrats!

Is that before or after you asked everyone on here for friendly advice, second if you wanted to bid and win, you would have bid when he relisted lets be honest.

But you managed to work a side deal good for you. You also managed to out an auction for a few collectors who were watching. No I wouldn’t offer more money per say but I also wouldn’t rip anyone off, or post bragging about it either let alone spin it for anything other than what it was.

You’re right Jamie I wouldn’t do what you did I would have the balls to call it what it was highway robbery via wonkaticket. I would also have the common sense enough not to post on an open forum before the card was in my hand.

Are you sure you're getting the card? I had e-mailed him earlier in the week to tell him to not end the auction early, he said he wouldn't. After the auction disappeared today, I contacted him about a sale (told him to name his price, I offered $500+), and he told me he was getting it graded. After noticing this post I just contacted him and he said it's being graded.

All I know is, I originally contacted the buyer on May 3rd asking him if he had a buy it now price, and if not to not end the auction early or at least let me make an offer if he is. Around 3:30 my time yesterday (which is 4:30 board time) I noticed the Young was missing in my watched items (not sure when it was pulled), I contacted the buyer and asked what happened and he said something along the lines that eBay added it to a list of cards that have to be graded and he was getting graded. I replied and asked if he just wanted to sell it...I assume he was talking to Jamie at this point, and he said he was getting it GRADED.

Off to do yard work and drink a few beers, I came in last night (around 9 pm my time) and noticed this thread, I again contacted the seller and asked if it's being graded or he sold it. He responded that it should be back up from grading in two weeks.

I was just more confused that anything, Jamie saying the card was already shipped and this guy saying it's being graded.
