You say it's a George Sisler card, but the caption only says "Baseball"...does it refer to Sisler on the reverse? |

The back does refer to Sisler by name. It's the only baseball card in the set. |

I almost picked up that 1889 Oakland PCL Baseball Team Cabinet Photo for $55, if no one had bid on it the first day, would have been mine. I thought it was only worth a hundred or two but i guess i was wrong. Good looking photo though. |

I saw that Oakland photo the first time it was listed...I'm guessing the lady got a ton of offers to end it early and that's why she re-listed it with a $900 minimum bid. That is one great photo. |

The photo is an interesting story because the description on ebay was SO bad. I emailed the lady back and forth several times and the story never really made sense until she mentioned that it was a gift from the city of Oakland to her Grandfather after "He" moved the Athletics to Oakland. I then looked back at her name, and it was Nancy Finley. Charles O'Finley was her Grandfather. She ended it and relisted it higher because she was getting so many offers to end it and she wanted to make sure the buyer was legit (Still does not make a lot of sense to me but that was her reasoning). I bid way more than I had to pay and got it cheap. I was still a little worried up until I got it in the mail but it is a beautiful example of this cabinet photo. It is easily worth 3X what I paid for it. |

Not only was her description bad, but the photo was horrible too. At first glance I could not tell if the cabinet was glued onto something else or if it was a picture of the cabinet. It stayed so low for so many days I was beginning to wonder if it was fake. Then when I saw it relisted for $900 I knew she had to have been getting tons of offers. Nice pickup Rhys. |

Picked up two Nebraska Indians postcards - the first was signed by Dan Tobey a Nebraska Indians player and it was written to Louis (Luke) Wagner (Honus Wagner's brother). The player pictured on the card is Tobey and not Guy W. Green. Green was only the owner/manager and did not play for the team. You can see a pic of Green in my avatar. |

I gotta say, Dan, I always enjoy seeing the items you've added to your Nebraska collecting niche. Lots of cool, unique stuff. |

Thanks Anthony. It's very rewarding for me...especially when I find something as significant as that Tobey postcard. |

Hey Cashew, not too hard to believe....there were probably only about 50 people living in Wyoming in 1907. |

I do not post many pick-ups on the board but I am very happy to have won this card. I have been waiting a long time for a nicely priced low grade copy. This is my favorite pick-up in a longtime. |

I believe this is an 1890 Old Judge (see the "NL" designation) and if so it is one of the better images I have ever seen on an 1890. Can any of the OJ experts confirm this is indeed a '90? |
