In Barry's 19th century type review in VCBC he characterized a few issues that fall into: 'they are so rare why bother category.' What N, E, T, H, W and -UNC,issues fall into this category? And what issues would fall into the next category, buy it when you see it because you probably wont have another chance. |

E135 1911 Zeenut Bohen. Only one known to exist (although I might bet that if another exists, Macrae owns it) and it is trimmed all the way down to the player's body image. |

I am biased (since I own 16 different) but I think the 1928 Star Player Candy cards would fall into the "buy them when you can find them category". I also think the Curtis Ireland Candy cards and the Kalamazoo Bats cards with the redemption offer would also fall into this category because both were meant to be turned in for prizes. Finally, the large size Gypsy Queens would probably also fall into this category. |

Tim- I didn't include one of a kinds, for the most part. The AWA is an AWH (E222) with a variation on the back. I also didn't include "H's" and there are many of those. Lastly, I didn't include uncatalogued card sets, as there are almost too many to list....Orange Borders, Allstar Baseball, Baseball Bats, J=K, Bigeater and many, many others. My list included most of the Pre-1950, ACC catalogued sets minus the H's and R's.....best regards |

Leon, your fine list lacks T200 premiums. Was that intentional, or was your post in addition to Denny's? And Barry, do the T200 premiums belong in the list? |

I'm not sure exactly what the list encompasses. It would only be mildly difficult to get a single T200 premium, such as the Athletics; but it would be near impossible to complete a set. I don't even think every team is known. |

If we are talking about complete sets, N167 gets pretty close to: Why bother? I do know of a couple people who are about 3/4 of the way there, so I may have to eat my words. |

I just forgot to include the T200 Premiums. They are very, very rare, obviously. I have only seen 2-3, ever.. |

Jim- I know one collector who has either completed N167 or is one card short. |

i think with the t215 pirate set from mastro not coming to market anytime soon getting even a single example will be difficult. for r issues the butter cream ruth and 32 lindstrom are in the why bother category. other why bother n cards would be a California league oj, gypsy queen California league and red stocking cigars. and is anyone close to completing a joseph hall team cabinet set? |

You are correct too, sir. "D355" Niagara Baking, is a series that would be almost impossible, imo. The way I made my original list in this thread was to look down my website and go from there. I missed a few I don't have |

I don't believe that there are any T211 or T209 complete sets although several collectors are "close". |

David, one collector is complete with the team card Joseph Hall cabinets (including variations). There is also a collector who owns a near complete set of the Fatima premiums. |

Does anyone know of any collector who actually owns a 1911 Zeenut Bohen (other than the one which is horribly trimmed along his body and pasted to a piece of white paper)? |
