1920's Exhibits - undervalued or not

I agree the post-1940's Exhibits are relatively easy, thus inexpensive.

However, the 1920's Exhibits in nice shape seem to be quite rare - at least the PSA pops show. Nice condition HOF'ers are tough - browse Google and ebay - how many do you see - not many at all.

They are of quality cardboard stock, have square corners, have very nice real photo's. Heck some of the super spendy caramel issues look not much like the player, I could name a couple E card Wagners that DO NOT look like him, but command $$$.

A few hundred for a nice graded 1920's Exhibit HOF'er seems like a helluva value right now.

Exhibits and Postcards have always been undervalued, but I agree the players available and the nice captured black and white photos are nice. We should see an increase in interest and value soon as more sports card collectors are purchasing these items. PSA just added some exhibit prices to the SMR, may take time to get the 1920s issues in there.

around the time of the national tis year.....1921, 1927 and 1928. WOW, the prices were great.....some 1921 commons brought $150 or more in VG condition. I also sold a 1921 Cobb in PSA5 about a year ago for about $1500. I think a lot of advanced collectors held off on exhibits, pursuing other, more difficult issues. Then the prices spiked on them and now you see a lot of names on them you never saw before.

I really like the Exhibits a lot for the reasons mentioned above but I am purely a team collector. Are there any online resources that provide checklists for all of the Exhibits - possibly including team information?

Exhibits have always been one of my favorite issues. Valuation? Well, value is the prevailing price, so they are what they are in dollars and cents. However, in-so-far as aesthetic valuation I think they have always been undervalued: they're big, they're sharp, they got great poses, they got player variety. What more could someone want?

The POP Report numbers for the exhibits are similar to many of the strip cards of the 1920's but I think almost everyone will agree that they are much more attractive than these strip cards so demand should always be greater for the exhibits.
