It can be a condition sensitive scarcity or a regular scarcity. I have a small advantage as I like obscure stuff....Here is a 1 of 1...with the Sanders advertising on bottom.... |

Here is a 1940 Play Ball colorized proof. I have currently have four of them, but this is the only one I've managed to get graded. SGC supposedly graded just a few of them before a somebody with clout in the hobby started raising hell about them (that's the story I got from both GAI and SGC). I'm convinced they're real, and graders from both companies agreed with me, off the record ... |

This 1933 Goudey card of Glenn Myatt is not scarce in general, but it is rather hard to find in top condition, partly because it is from the 'low number' series where inferior card stock was used: |

Looking at all the photos my first question is define a baseball card? Anything with a player on it made out of paper? I've seen a Game Card/19th century advertising piece/postcard/CDV/Cabinet/Silk/Supplement/Die cut/and football player. So I guess I really do not know what to post??? |

I discovered this forum after this card found me, literally falling out of a hole my ceiling onto my head. It's a Universal Toy & Novelty Co. strip card circa 1929. I know it's pathetic, but I love it. And it is very rare, indeed. |

It's all about having fun with what you collect. A card can really be anything you deem it to be. We all know there is no set definition of "card"....so go with whatever you want to call a card that is in your collection. It's all good.... regards |

I initially wasn't going to post this because it's not pre-war, but a 1952 Num Num isn't any more off topic than a football card: |

Here is mine, a t213-3 double-overprint error card. To my knowledge its the only time this error has been found where an overprint was struck in the middle of the card. |

As far as scarcity goes, I guess it would be my trimmed large size Gypsy Queen of Tim Keefe (picture posted in Keefe thread) and my 1928 Star Player Candy cards, one of which is Buddy Meyer. Meyer is a 1 of 1 as far as I know. |

Well, my rarest cards are Topps test issues (I'd say the 68 AL Plaks checklist is the rarest one I own or possibly the "no dugout" 68 3D Maloney)but for the good old stuff, I'd have to say (and it's not all that rare): |

I'm curious as to what you -- or anyone else on the board -- would expect that to bring at auction. The premiums are so rarely offered, I really don't have a base price from which to work. (Plus, I can start saving now if I have a ballpark figure.) |
