I just read on ESPN that Mr. Auker died today. He was 95. |

He wrote a book called "Sleeper Cars and Flannel Uniforms: A Lifetime of Memories from Striking out the Babe to Teeing It up with the President " which has some great stories from his career in baseball..I really enjoyed reading it. |

I got to see him at the Babe Ruth symposium at Hofstra in 1995. And since today is my birthday (no gifts please) I will never forget his date of death. He was a good man. |
