Paul and I have been discussing the two variances of V89 Wm Patersons. I'm curious, do the B&W versions use a different type of stock than the sepias? |

Just a guess... I think your getting 1922 V61 Nelson Chocolates mixed up here with the 1922 V89 William Paterson's I know that the Nelson's have 2 types of cards, type 1 has Old English print on the back, type 2 has a thicker cardstock and no numbers on the front (type 2 is more desirable by %50 cost) |

I think Anson is asking if the 2 types of V89s (sepia and B&W) have different paper stocks. I would have answered it but Im not sure myself, the only 2 I have at this moment are sepia and they are slabbed so I cant be sure of the thickness and I dont have one of each type to compare. It is a good question though. |

I actually had asked this question to myself a few months ago when I picked up the Daubert from the set. I laid the card next to another one I had from the set and could find no difference and then I held each in one of my hands at the same time. By this very unscientific pair of experiments, I would say the two versions are of the same stock. |

Is the sepia tone version clearly different? |

OK, I see the difference here: |

As an aside, I still need Shawkey, Marquard and Scott to finish the set (shameless plug, sorry, Leon). |

Paul, if you could post up your Heilmann for comparison. It looks as if these B&Ws have substantial stock like the E120s etc. |

Actually the card stock reminds me of E121s, semi gloss on the front (finished) and raw on the back. |
