Cracked Labels.

Has anybody sent cracked labels back to the grading companies? To have them removed from the population reports. Did you have success or do they simply disappear and never change the population? Sorry, I have the day off and feeling creative. Serious Question though.

I have a few in my drawer (SGC, PSA) that I intend to send in but haven't yet. If board members come online and say nothing was done when they sent in their labels, I guess I'll save the time and postage of sending them in.

I've cracked PSA slabs and sent back the flips. In the case of 1938 Goudeys that I've sent back, I have seen the pop reports reduced.

However, with more mainstream sets, its tough to tell. When I started collecting 38 Goudeys, there were only about 1800 graded, so it was easy to see if one got subtracted. But with something more mainstream like 1933 Goudey (I've sent back a few), it's tough to tell. It's a moving target.

I've got a big box to send them, whenever I get around to it.

I know that when PSA started they requested people do this so that the pop report would be as accurate as possible. I don't know if they keep up with it or if many people bother.

PSA actually paid for the flips at one time. I think it was 50 cents each. They have since stopped doing this. No reason to pay for them, as people regularly buy memberships anyways. It is not like there are any outrages from consumers demanding correct information. Public company, making a financially sound decision.

PSA never paid 50 cents ...PCGS the sister company of PSA is the one that does that.

One guy actually showed up once with 20,000 labels...that hurt.
