OK ....so E cards have taken off, especially E107's. Sporting Life Cabinets are soaring lately. Try buying a T211 Red Sun lately? They've soared. How about any decent D304 or D359? Don't even try it without a $500 bill (and that's for a common). How about T210's, they too have risen like a tide. All of these sets have soared in price in the last year or two. What do you think the next "in" set will be, that will soar, if any? Exhibits maybe? btw, our illustrious Hal owns this beauty now.

I can vouch for the rapid rise of t210 prices and why I've had to redefine what cards get into my player set. I happened to find a t210 series 8 in my collection when I was weeding out all the minor league cards. I bought the card a year ago and just sold the thing for 15x what I paid for it. That is not a typo. It is 15.

I have my suspicions as to what might be hot next, but being on a very limited budget, no way I am telling people since I like the cards and don't need any more competition for them.

The cost of run-of-the-mill HOF strip cards has about tripled over the last year.

Do me a favor: stay out of Exhibit cards until I've had a few more years of racking them up. I'll let you know when it is ok to start buying them

Yes, I have to echo Adam's comments and suggest that everyone stay away from the 1933 Goudey set until I can finish. I only need 129 more cards!
But I think the '33 DeLongs are going to be the next big thing, as someone else posted here.

I collect primarily 1920's sets. I've noticed a steady rise in prices when offered. Goodwyn & Companys auction ends tonight, check out the caramel prices. I also dabble in rare backs such as Kotton, Herpolsheimer, Coupons etc..., these cards are becoming impossible to find. I've also noticed a big price increase in Post cards, Exhibits, Game cards and Large ad cards in the last few years (WOW).

I would also group N167's in the HOT category. There is a very small population, but their recent prices realized has soared.

I've been very lucky to be able to purchase several of these HOT cards before the market on them exploded. Which one is next? I wish I knew.

I'd have to say the t210s are soaring and are rarer than ever. Also the last t211 i've seen on ebay was mid-grade and sold for a few hundred dollars other than that....nothing. I think that the t209 colors have alawys been kinda underated and for being as rare as they are they don't seem to command the prices that I think they should.

I don't really think so....I saw a psa 3 mk sell for just a little bit over $120 not too long ago. But then again a psa 1 sold in 19thcentury for $130ish. So I guess the prices are all over the place.

I have to go with whoever said strip cards. Right now, the PSA Set Registry is helping drive demand. You could buy T3's at a fraction of what they are selling for now some 20 months ago when PSA was still not grading them. That being said, my speculation is only from a short-term investment standpoint. I personally dislike most strip cards.

Overall, pre-war is very hot. You can't go too wrong on much of it right now.

I think the 1934 Goudey set has all the earmarks of a set on the rise.

1.) It's Pre-war Goudey
2.) It has a Lou Gehrig caption
3.) It's only 90+ cards.
4.) There are NO Ruth's and only 2 Gehrig's.....

I too think it will be the M116 set. I am sprinting toward the finish line because I fear what is coming on the horizon.
The sets I can't believe are not hotter are the Obaks 09-11. Beautiful cards, true rookie cards (for those who collect that king of thing) of many players, relative scarcity and in the case of the '09s, downright rarity. I know it is a regional issue but so as T210s, 211s, etc.

Right back at you big guy.....I can edit my own threads! I think it's a 1928 or 1929. I have about 10-15 of them. My buddy has the same one you have autographed by Frisch in fantastic blue fountain pen. It was, however, summarily rejected by PSA/DNA. As was a Red Faber autographed exhibit. I feel pretty confidently that they are both authentic too. To your joke about PSA/DNA.......

Actually.......
As a pinback collector (among EVERYTHING else), I think they're pretty undervalued (most issues anyway). When you can pick up EX to EXMT P2's on ebay for $9.00-$15.00.....try getting PSA5 and PSA6 T206's, M116's or T207's even now. $100-$150 and up.

Also think the exhibits are moving as all postcard items are. Some of the 'R' issues are also way underpriced in regards to the other more 'popular' issues of the time. The size on the 'R' oversized ones has caused many to be damaged and it's tough to get nice conditioned R312's, R313's, etc.

Agree on strips but UGGHH.......kinda like the E91's. Just don't like em that much.
