I remember setting up at the Golden Gate Motor Inn in Brooklyn for their bi-monthly shows in the late 70's. I know they use to have other big shows in NYC but how come they never had a National Show in NYC. The material and collectors in the New York area are phenomanal and for out of towners NYC in the summer is a great place to visit. I am not talking about Parsipanny or White Plains but how come NYC never hosted the National? |

Asside from the fact that it would be really really expensive, they have had a number of shows close enough to New York that it isn't really a big deal...the last being in Atlantic City (not too far) |

Atlantic City is at least 90 minutes from NYC and besides the casinos does't offer any thing to do outside of the show. I am just wondering why in 25 years has NYC not hosted the National. Maybe your point about it being too expensive is the answer but isn't Chicago in the same ballpark. |

The better question is why never in Las Vegas? It has plenty of convention space, plenty of decent-priced hotel rooms and is convenient to fly into from just about everywhere. |

Las Vegas does not support their local shows. A few years ago there was a large show with 30-50 Hall of Fame players. There were most of the major dealers there. There was not many collectors there. |

between hotels, food, local taxes and the contract labor situation at the convention center, the venue isn't viable compared to the others they use unless you double the fees and admission price. I mean, does anyone believe that Cleveland was chosen for anything other than price? |
