Any problems with this T206?

Any reason to believe this card has been altered? Any help is appreciated. I tried to contact the seller and he hasn't answered. Also he has sold a lot of PSA graded vintage. Sorry don't know how to post a link. Best I could do was copy and paste address.

Damian - despite what the seller says to the contrary, I think the card looks short and likely trimmed. This is just my opinion of course, but the bottom and right edges look especially fishy to me.

Other than looking very sharp, it's not obviously trimmed. Centering is good and all the cuts at least look straight. The seller appears to have excellent feedback and guarentees the card's authenticity and goes out of their way to say the card is not trimmed. No guarentees however that a grading company won't say otherwise.

Ive bought a card from this seller without problem (though it was graded). I think you can probably count on his guarantee (or at least refunding your money of it turns out to be trimmed).

Is it me or do we rarely find any "NM" ungraded T206 cards on eBay anymore and if we do, we assume they are trimmed (or repos)? It seems like very nice cards get accused and bells go off when they don't already come graded. Just an observation.

Kind of sad, but I guess that is just the way it is. So many scam artists out there that it hurts good cards.

DJ, my opinion on the t206 wasn't so much an assumption as it was an opinion based on the scan in the auction. To simply assume that every raw card in nice shape is automatically either trimmed or counterfeit would be pretty silly.

What I'm saying is that you can provide a perfect scan of a wonderful T206 card, bring it before the board and there will a few people who will comment about how it's 1/16th off to the right or how the top looks like it was introduced to finger nail scissors.

I once saw a perfect (blazing!) Fred Merkle T206 Portrait on eBay last year and I knew it was good but I wondered why no one else was bidding on it and it sold for like $65. Submitted, it was probably an 8 and worth about $700-800 or so. If it was graded, there would be no questions about anything on this card.

I'm guilty of being a tad paranoid. I don't like purchasing ungraded cards via the internet. I prefer holding card and making my purchasing decisions that way. That's just me.
