Long Sought Quests.

It's been over a year since Paul posed this question to us in this thread.

Because of this thread I've recently been able to cross off one of my Holy Grails so to speak. While researching a postcard a gentleman found he came across my name and want list. He contacted me and a deal was struck. I've been looking for a photo of the 1907 Wichita Jobbers for over 12 years. This team was ranked as the 41st best minor league team of all-time. I've also been able to cross off another item from my list, a photo of John Levi. Levi was called "the greatest athlete I've ever seen" by Jim Thorpe. He was best known for his football skills but was signed by the Yankees without them even seeing him play.

I guess it truly pays to advertise especially if it's free. Has anyone else been able to get any of their long sought grail items? This would also be a good time to post your list again and add any new items you might want.

Here's what I'm searching for now.

1) Cabinet photo of Goldsby's Golden Giants of Topeka
2) Flannel jersey from the Wichita Indians
3) 1918 Chicago White Sox at Camp Funston postcard

Congrats Clint! You made it happen...that is one sweet postcard.

Nothing on my list from last year came to fruition, but I did pick up some amazing items over the past year.

If I had to make a realistic wishlist it would be:

1. 1887 Lincoln Tree Planters cabinet photo (It exists...I just don't know where it is)

2. 1907 Lincoln team photo or postcard with Eddie Cicotte (don't know if it exists)

3. Any type of celluloid item (pinback or mirror) that I don't already have pre 1920 pertaining to the Lincoln team.

Taking into account the caveat that there's always a piece of memorabilia out there that you don't even know exists, the only two items on my want list are the Naps pennant that pictures Lajoie and a 1920 World Series/Cleveland version celluloid press pin. I still kick myself for not making a stronger play for the group of 1920 Series press pins that were in the Halper auction.

Congrats Clint! My Cubs pennant is the lone item checked off my most wanted list. I'll be happy if I can check off one every 3-5 years.
