Here it goes, part 2 of the board wide type collection! This one seems about twice as tough as the last one, so how about a 2-card per person limit until Sept. 1st, and a free-for-all after that. It's also recommended that you host your own image rather than uploading to the net 54 domain, just so the pics will stay up for longer than two weeks. Max has graciously offered his webspace to host images, you can contact him at weder@shaw.ca. |

Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to post a picture of the drool coming out of my mouth right now. If Scott and Wayne would like to donate the Ramly Johnson and a Wagner to my new old collection, I would be much abliged. |

Kevin (or anyone who can answer), can you give me some background (year, scarcity, value, set, etc.) of the Allegheny Card Company card you posted? Great looking card. |

The supposition is that all the cards in circulation were part of a single test market issue produced as a prototype for a prospective investor or manufacturer. Despite the legend on the reverse, I don't recall if research actually turned up any company named the Allegheny Card Company during the time at which the set was produced in either Allegheny, Pennsylvania or Detroit, Michigan. All the cards were supposedly hand cut. They were intended to be game cards like the Fan Craze sets although these cards are a tad thinner than those. Only National League players are pictured. The entire boxed set was discovered in the late 1980s and then auctioned off a couple of time intact before they were broken up for individual sales. Lew Lipset owned the entire set at one time, I believe, and then sold at least half of the 104 cards to Sportscards Plus. I got the Cooley from them. |

a Horner cabinet (someone posted a gorgeous one a couple of months ago!), Old Cardboard has a beautiful WG1 on their website--doesn't mean they own one, of course--I KNOW people have these things, and others, because they CROWED about them when they got them! And JC probably has everything I haven't mentioned. Leon, NOBODY will EVER get tired of looking at your FBH Kelly...Bruce B, I think your collection has similar furniture to that you've already posted... |

as a type collector I am at an unfair advantage.......I will post about half of the remaining empty slots, later this evening, if no one else does......and I still don't really collect cabinets or pins.....(besides the cool Plowboy with ad back I won the other day from Scott B).....later |

Leon, these are supposed to be cards of baseball players, not doctors. Although there is no reason the team doc shouldn't get a card either |

You might know this but that bag and coat on Moehler is/was for specific reasons. As the players of yesteryear didn't have fancy schmancy cars and all they would bring their shoes and belts and gloves (and possibly uniform) to the game in the doctor looking bag. They would cross the San Fran channel on a ferry. It would be cold even in the summertime so they would wear these overcoats to stay warm. They would then change over at the game. ...regards |

Nice job in posting the scans Julie. Why can't we use higher res scans for posting??? I do not know how to downsize my PICS. Try to get the Carl Horner PIC in there as well. |

If you use Network54's hosting, the image can't be larger than 128KB. Use your own hosting (like your own, JC) and you can put up any size you want. You get what you pay for... |
