I must say I just found this board and it is great. Anyhow I bought at a local show recently an uncut sheet of W560 cards. There was no Ruth or Gehrig but it did have Jimmie Foxx on it. Are these tough to find uncut or common? Thanks Paul |

Uncut W560 sheets are found with some regularity. A neat item (with Double X, The Beast!), but not like finding an uncut 1933 Goudey sheet |

The Beast! I love that nickname ... I want to be called The Beast. I'll start by doing more pushups. |

Talk with the seller of this item. I am of course kidding (not that there's anything wrong with that);however, it irks me when someone "crosses over" into the vintage hobby and describes the players in team photos as being of "gay interest". I'm guessing it's because they can't fathom that men could do things together, without women around, and keep their clothes on. In particular, guys seemed to put their arms around each other, or on each other's legs, etc., a lot more often in these old team photos - nothing odd about it to men back then, but this makes them "gay" in the eyes of some ebay sellers. I would love to see the reaction of this team if "paresishall" approached them with this team description. I think it might involve a good waldo-kicking. |

That is one strange auction description. Sociologically speaking, I guess that means that all NFL quarterbacks are gay too, huh? |

I remember there was a regular seller of old photos, including old baseball photos. I assume he was homosexual and, on relevant photos, he would include 'Gay Interest' in the title. To him, most young athletes were of 'gay interest.' Some of the baseball photos were nice cabinet cards and such, and I wondered if any vintage baseball baseball collectors hestitated to bid on them because of the title. |

For example, the photo Scott linked appears to be a nice baseball photo ... But be warned-- now that this has been posted in an online public forum-- John Ascroft will likely be taking notes on who bids. If you win the photo and get an IRS audit notice the next month, don't assume it's a coincidence. |
