Does anyone out there remember an auction found in the pages of SCD from the 1986-1988 range (I think) for a T-206 Honus Wagner? It had to be the ugliest Honus in existence. I think at the time, due to its ugliness, the winning bid was just under $4,000. Anyway, it's much worse looking (if I remember correctly) than the recent PSA-1 version auctioned by sportscardsplus. If anyone out there knows what I'm talking about, any info would help. |

I don't know if this is the same one, but there was a T206 Wagner described by someone as "not all there." The buyer (price over $9,000 I beleive) was investing in a percentage of a Wagner. |

Any idea if it was real or how long ago this was or anything else? I figure it's my only shot at getting one for the set I'm building, barring my grandparents rising from the grave and giving me a stack of cards in an old cigar box. |

You must be talking about the T206 Wagner that someone had cut out ol' Honus and threw away the background and 3 of the borders. A good 40% of the card was missing. That one sold for $8-9K I believe. |

Levi Bleam of 707 sportscards was the seller of that $8K Wagner.....to add to the PSA debate, it had been graded as 'authentic'. So much for the 'we won't encapsulate if it's trimmed' debate......... |

Actually, I think this Wagner was more complete than the one described in earlier posts. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyone know where that Wagner ended up though, if it's actually believed to be real (do you guys think it's authentic)? |

The very first Wagner I ever got to see and hold had about 1/2 x 3/4" part of the card cut off from the upper right corner. Didn't hit Hans, but was a huge chunk none the less. |

I'm no condition freak, but even I have standards. If a the percentage of card being offered is lower than the Seattle Mariners' winning percentage I pass. If its percentage is lower than Detroit Tigers, it's probably in Jeff Sackman's collection. |

I know that Brian Drent from Mile High auctioned off one of the Magie cards on Nov 12, 2002. It went for $1,684.75 out the door. |
