It has always surprised and bothered me that someone with what appears to be a genuine 4 figure card lists it with crappy scans and no supersize.

I suppose for that much coin, a buyer could request and probably get better scans via e-mail. Still, marketing 101 would tell you to get the nicest pic, especially since the cost is so minimal in light of the potential upside return.

what I don't get is that if they are going to use a camera for the pic, why can't they get right over the top of the card and get a straight on picture rather than these angled shots that distort the card.

Is when the seller doesn't respond to the emails about the crappy scans. If the seller can't be bothered to send me a scan of an expensive item I'd like to buy, I can't be bothered to bid on it.

You have an SGC or PSA slabbed card? Who needs a scan they are always right on the money, accurate, fair and completely without prejudice...<choke, cough>.
