Hello all, it’s been a long time since I had anything of interest to post about but yesterday I purchased the St. Louis Browns May 6, 1953 program/scorecard from Bobo Holloman’s famous (infamous?) first start no-hitter.
The scorecard was filled out in pencil and the whole booklet is in excellent condition. It also includes a few autos in pencil, the best being Harry “the Cat” Brecheen, and one in ink; Bobo himself. I have compared the sig to others I’ve seen and it is legit. I mean who is going to fake a Bobo Hollomon auto anyway? Scorecards and autographs aren’t something I typically collect but I couldn’t pass this gem up. I’m not looking to sell at this time but can I get a few opinions on the value of it? Let me know if you would like to see some pics. Thanks! John |

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the response but I'm having a heck of a time trying to post pics on the forum. Can you pm your email address to me and I'll send them to you? John |

Congrats on a cool pickup, if you ever want to move it, it would fit nicely into my scored no hit programs collection...
I hope you learn how to post pix, Scott and myself aren't the only ones who would like to see it. Doug |

If you have pictures on your phone, posting pics is fairly easy. We’d all love to see this piece.

I have them on my phone but for some reason I can’t upload them to the forum. It’s very frustrating! What is the proper procedure?

Hi John,
Your Bobo Holloman scorebook looks great. Congrats! FYI, the game had low attendance due to rain that day. Only about 2400 patrons were there, making finding a scored program to Bobo's no-hitter a challenge. Low attendance + rain doesn't lend itself to finding a clean scorebook. As Doug Goodman mentioned, he would be a willing buyer if you decide to sell it. I would be interested myself, except I own one in my personal collection. Mine is not scored, but it was signed in blue ballpoint by STL. Browns 1953 owner and PR showman Bill Veeck. I paid about $200 for mine. IMHO, being neatly scored and being signed by Bobo Holloman adds to the value. I would estimate it's value at $300 or so. I hope this helps! ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, Scott. Congrats to you on your Veeck signed copy. That’s also very cool.
