I saw an article on the web today about a bar in New York City. McSorley's Old Ale House is located in the East Village, on 7th Street near 3rd Avenue in the St. Mark's Historic District. The article said the last time they removed something from the wall was in 1910. They showed one item hanging on the wall that was boxing related. Take a look. Sure looks like a fun cool place to visit.

If you are into boxing, I'd recommend Jimmy's Corner. Incredible place.

McSorley's is pretty classic. They have two kinds of beer there: light beer, and dark beer. You order one, you get two small mugs full. Not only haven't they removed anything since 1910, it looks like they haven't dusted anything since 1910 either - it's touristy but I love it anyway, and try and get there a couple days a year, just to have a couple mugs of the dark stuff.
If you're in town, you should definitely go - it's in a great part of the city with a ton of culture and music nearby. -Al |
