I have found that while trying to get as many different Dodger autographs on cards as possible, I end up with near completion on certain years. 1978 Topps is a great example, although I have actively tried to complete that set purposefully, as it is one of my favorites (my first pack opening year of collecting). Sadly, I am still one player short, as Ed Goodson doesn't seen to like to sign much at all, let alone his 78T. In fact, I am short on team completion in many of the individual years for one or more common reasons, such as SPs, High Numbers, elusive signers or superstar players. Unless you are prepared to spend a fair amount of money, completing full Dodger team sets (even LA) will certainly be a challenge.
Another area that I find myself at near or full completion is a certain players cards and it is fun to see the progression of that players career in cards. Claude Osteen is a good example of a player who seems to sign readily, yet he had a long career and has many cards to collect, but it makes for a nice display when you get them all. Completing his run is easy and inexpensive. Completing a run for Sandy Koufax on the other hand would prove quite expensive, although it is not hard to do. Does anyone have any interesting signed player runs that are scanned and ready to share, especially any that run a good amount of time (10+ years)?

Many guys in the 52 topps set only had that ONE card, so I'd guess a few of those would qualify!

I wouldn't mind completing a Brooks Robinson run. I have most, but that 67T would be my toughie. I'll have to dig out what I have and scan them too..

I'd LOVE to see a Brooks Robinson run! I only have a few signed by Brooks, but if I do a run the problem would be, at least for me, is that I'd want them ALL to be in pen. It's not that the sharpies are not nice (at least some of them), but Brooks typically signs fairly large I don't like when it obscures the card too much. I'd love to see what you have so far. Also, there are several signed '67's out there, it's just they are a tad pricey. By the way; the Garvey run looks really nice... |

I went ahead and included the 78T RB because he didn't have the regular card in the set.
Not complete and missing more than I remembered now. Oh well… ![]() ![]() Not sure if any are fake. I never really looked at them all together, and i see some differences now for sure. Quote:

Love the Brooksie cards! You have quite a run of his already; sure don't need many more. Your Brooks run sure has me motivated now to start my own Brooks run... I'll have to dig out what I have currently and go from there. Also, I can guarantee that all of those Brooks autos are genuine. Now, the signatures are from different time periods and he has had multiple changes in the way his signs. Also, even currently the "B" in Brooks and the "R" in Robinson are often times different styles when he signs. |

Very nice! I especially like Kaline signed cards; he has such a nice signature. Did you purposely get them all in sharpie? I think I'm going to try a run of Brooks Robinson cards, but unsure which way to go in regard to what he used to sign. I have a few pen and a couple where he used a sharpie. It would be nice to have them uniform. |

Kaline was a great signer TTM for many years - always with a beautiful signature and always in Sharpie. His fee was very reasonable. That's how I obtained about 70% of those autos. Over the last couple of years his signature has become very flat and he is somewhat erratic in his signing habits.
Brooks has that really big sig on cards that would look great in Sharpie, but you need to do what makes you happy. Like Kaline, Brooks isn't getting any younger... |

Yes; I've noticed some of the recent Kaline signed pieces are no where near as nice as they used to be. I guess what can you expect at his age. Of course the one's you have already are the way I remember how he signed. I have his signature on an 8X10 w/Brooks pictured (common picture). I also have a couple other 8X10's of Kaline autographs that I received in person at a show.
I'll have to dig through what I have of Brooks already and start a checklist and start the process. I've never been much of getting cards signed in the past, but seeing some of the autograph runs of players it has me motivated to at least do a side project and start picking them up. I know I've picked up a few cards through the years when I would hit a dry spell in collecting, but don't have too many. The good thing about Brooks autographs is that he signed about everything so to find them is not that hard at all it's just a matter of what I'm willing to pay and the condition of the card itself. I like to have at least a decent looking card as well as autograph. Thanks for sharing part of your collecting; appreciate you doing that for us collectors. |
