I have 2 baseballs signed by Ernie Banks and plan on selling the duplicate to save space. I would like to move the item that would bring a larger return back, because value of an item isn't very important in my collection (I invest in collecting, not collect to invest). I know there are alot of Banks out there with inscriptions due to him on the circuit, so I have a "group" to sell if with so to speak.
I have a group of single signed baseballs I want to move. I have the entire starting lineup for the Opening day 1969 Cubs each on a separate ball, and I want to include one of the Banks in there. The first ball just has a "512 HR" Inscription, while the second is a 1958 MVP stat ball, I have included photos below. Based on photos of the balls, and the collection I want to sell it in, which ball makes more sense? I was going to put them on ebay, but if its smarter to consign it, opinions on that would be great as well. Thanks everyone for the advice. |

I like the one on the left better because it is darker, but inscriptions are certainly something to consider also.

I am thinking of keeping the HR ball because it fits my 500 HR club collection better, but I am open to whatever will get me the most back.

Stick with the home run ball....It will fit in nicely with your 500 Club Collection...

Keep the home run ball. Did you get the balls signed in person? He is quite a character and has some great stories. Met him at Cubs fantasy camp 5 or 6 years ago. Cocktails and Ernie, hard combo to beat.

Very much agree! I was able to meet Ernie this past summer at a local event. A true character and a great person!

He had me call my wife from the party just so he could talk with her. He wanted to speak to my boss. LOL. Was an awesome moment.
