Default Looking forward to another season!

The bottom line is it's nice to have a game on TV every night to kick back to, and it's really great to go to a game on a beautiful spring, summer or fall day and sit back with a nice overpriced beer. Most ball parks have great food choices now compared to the old days. Not just crappy dogs and burgers.

Let's Go [FILL IN THE BLANK].

Agreed! The best time of the year!
My fantasy draft is on Saturday which is the best DAY of the year! Fifteen of us friends at the Golf Club bar area drafting our teams. We start at 9:00 am and finish our draft around 5:00 pm. Just us guys eating, drinking, and talking and drafting baseball.

LET'S GO PHILLIES!!!!

I listened to the Phillies game on the radio while getting some things done.

They struck out 19 times today and one of their relievers blew a late lead.

Somehow, they still won 7-3.

As a fan of a small market team, I haven't looked forward to a baseball season in 30+ years. I don't watch games except for the World Series. I don't collect current players. I am rooting for a lockout and a salary cap so the small market teams, the bottom third markets, will have a chance to win. Those 10 teams have won 1 World Series in the last 33 years. The game I love is broken and has been for a long time.

I used to think the same way, but then I read the above. Note that the operating income levels for some of the worst teams are much higher than those of some of the best teams. In 2024, the Yankees had an operating LOSS of $57 million. The Mets had an operating LOSS of $268 million. the LA Dodgers had $21 million of operating profit, so they did ok.

In contrast, the LA Angels had operating profit of $40 million, the Marlins had $38 million, and the Pirates had $47 million.

I think the roster disparity in baseball is more of a cheap owner issue, rather than an affordability issue.
