Default Cards that elude?

What card or cards have eluded you for years? Is it because the card is scarce or the price was too high?

A T206 with the multi-strike (Lash's Bitters) back. Part of this is price, part is availability.

I'll probably get one some day. They're hard to find; however, there aren't that many people looking for them. Ideally, one will surface at the Philly Show and I can work out a cash/trade deal.

W600 Cobb. Had a chance at one years ago but I bought the W600 type 1 Wagner in same auction instead. I don’t regret the decision, but I would like a w600 Cobb one day

E92 etc. Mathewson. Combination of reasons -- too out of register, price insane, or just didn't act fast enough.

E90-1 Tris Speaker. It’s been hard to find one with eye appeal and in lower grade. Plus it being tough and seldom seen in general.

My elusive list is 90% a scarcity issue; possibly stuff that doesn't exist or that is 1-of-1, though there are a few elusive cards that I cannot possibly afford mixed in there, like the Capital Candy & Cracker Thorpe or a 1923 Exhibit Ruth. No hope of winning those at auction.

1930 Baguer Chocolate Joe McCarthy that's not beat the hell up.

I've seen examples come and go over the years, but most are in terrible condition. I don't mind some wear, but I want the front clean and the back stamp at least mostly intact.

Adam,

Do you happen to have a picture of that Thorpe card? I never heard of that one before.

As a single players collector, I have too many to name. But they are all due to scarcity.

A solid looking 1911 Zeenut Halla. They're out there, but the price is too askew for what I'm willing to pay these days. Passed up way too many 20 years ago thinking $250 for a PSA6 was a bit steep at the time...insert many facepalms here .

Happy Holidays to all of you!

Bill

Didn’t even realize til this thread that there were Pro Star postcards AND posters! Wow.

As for my card that eludes me, it’s the 1950 Hage’s Dairy Kenny Washington. I’ve only been looking for a couple years so I won’t give up hope. Leads always appreciated.
