Default Cullivans T208

Thought people might enjoy seeing this. I’ve been collecting cigarette and tobacco packs related to the distribution of baseball cards for about 30 years now. I’m down to 5 boxes/packs to have a complete run of every known brand, and prior to April when I finally acquired a Mono cigarette box, it had been years since I had filled a hole in the collection. Also, out of all of the various brands over the years, there were only 2 wrappers that I hadn’t been able to document (confirm a surviving copy exists) through photograph or scan - Four Base Hits and Cullivan’s Fireside Scrap. It’s not surprising these 2 remained elusive given their extreme rarity. It would be a miracle for packaging to survive.

Well, that has changed as I’ve recently discovered a Cullivan’s paper wrapper. It’s not the prettiest, but it’s extremely exciting to me as it fills another hole and also gets us one step closer to seeing the products all of the issues are associated with.

Leon- it would appear so re Penn, which I hadn’t realized. The wrapper came out of a collection that was all period (1880-1915) so squarely within the time frame of distribution although the tax stamp was missing (you can see some remnants) so it’s impossible for me to give a definitive year on it.
