The best thing about the Mike Tyson / Jake Paul fight

...Was watching the Katie Taylor / Amanda Serrano fight.

Amanda Serrano is awesome. And she was robbed.

I'm not sure if that fight is representative of women's boxing, but if it was, I prefer that to watching the men box. It's like women's soccer versus men's soccer. The men spent half the time writhing around on the pitch, grabbing at their shins, and pretending to cry, while the women just try to bludgeon each other.

That was a magnificent performance followed by a blatant robbery. That last round we are watching rock em sock ‘em robots. Awesome.

Agree that was the fight of the night and agree she was robbed.

A couple questionable decisions on that card. Judges were brutal.

I just see them as world class boxers who deserve to be able to do what the men do. If I want to think about the broader social impact, I'd say that if they became more mainstream in terms of how society sees women, we wouldn't have so many issues with guys going home and beating up on their wives.

It’s incredibly frustrating that Taylor seems to consistently lead with her head and does this regularly. Serrano had that fight, close but undoubtedly should have got the decision. Rough this was second robbery in two fights between the two.

Props to the coach for really stepping up for his fighter in the end. That’s a strong corner. Had the headbutts not been an issue and disabling the right vision, it would have likely ended in KO for Serrano.

The Tyson fight was honestly sad and did not help a legacy that remains amazing but now has a greed asterisk. I hope he please does not do it again, age has won.

I haven't watched much womens boxing. I have watched a lot of womens mma fights and usually they are way better than the guys. It is kinda like watching the little guys fight. They usually can't hit hard enough to KO anyone so they throw leather with a ton of action.

Yup.

I'm not a big MMA fan, but they've done a much better job of promoting womens combat sports, and the talent pool is much deeper there, than it is in boxing.

Boxing goes through spurts and cycles where it looks like womens boxing is going to break out and become more mainstream, and then it just peters out and is never promoted with any sort of consistency.
