Default Trivia: 400 Total Bases in a single season - non HOFers

Ohtani just became the 19th player in MLB history to attain 400 Total Bases in a single season.

Excluding the steroids era players like Bonds, Sosa, and Luis Gonzalez, all of the players who have had 400 total bases in a single season are in the HOF, except two players.

Who are the two players that have had 400 Total Bases in a single season that are not in the HOF (not including steroids era players and Ohtani himself)?

As always, please guess rather than look-up the answers.

I'll go with a couple 70's, 80's guys.

George Foster

Not sure if he did it, but I assume Albert Belle falls into the steroid era.

Babe Herman is my guess. That guy had one of the most incredible seasons of all time and it has been forgotten ever since.

Don Mattingly? He had a couple monster seasons early in his career with ~230 hits and alot of HR.

Excellent guesses, but George Foster just missed when he had 388 total bases in 1977, the year he hit 52 Home Runs.

Dave Parker led the League in total bases 3x, but his high was 350 in 1985.

Albert Belle got as close as one can get in 1998 when he had 399 total bases. Great guess!

Yes! Babe Herman had a mind boggling 416 total bases in 1930 when he hit .393 with 35 HRs, 48 doubles and 11 triples for Brooklyn. Great job!

Another excellent guess, Lefty O'Doul had 397 total in 1929, the year he hit .398 with 32 Home Runs.

A great guess, Mattingly led the League in total bases in 1985 and 1986, the latter in which he reached 388.

Excellent job! While Rudy York's high was 343 total bases in 1940, Hal Trosky is the other correct answer! Trosky had 405 total bases in 1936 when he .343 with 42 HRs, 45 Doubles and 9 Triples for Cleveland.

Well done everyone!
