Default Awesome raw lots on eBay this morning

Did anyone come away with any of these great lots? My $7K snipe on the E104-1 World Champs lot of 10 didn't even get placed, as the lot sold for just north of $10K. The Plank looked awesome in this lot!

A few other nice lots with a T206 Cobb OM and caramel Wagner, Matty, etc. Nothing flew under the radar by any means though!

Had some really cool stuff across baseball and boxing, I was watching them all to see what happened. Seller must be ecstatic, doesn’t sound like he knew what he had.

Default wow

Man I missed those..... there was an E card lot with a Wagner and a Mathewson also...... nothing got "stolen" but some darn good deals, especially on the first lot as pictured. For sure the seller didnt really appreciate what these were. You sneaky Net54 guys trying to snipe in secret.... a fellow just cant get a bargain around here any more LOL .

As soon as you see an auction closing in the morning you basically know the seller is clueless.

Here is a 1911 pharmacy trade publication article in THE SPATULA about Swift's Variety Store that I found while I googled all over my keyboard.

Note that the street address on the full store name stamp is slightly different...242 W. 23rd St. versus 244 W. 23rd St. Sounds like at some point around this time frame that "This quaint store" moved next door.

No problem Leon, always fun to do a little internet research, especially when it comes to identifying sources of pressed seaweed, which H.L. Swift makes sure is stocked on the limited shelves of his variety store, along with a bounty of postage stamps which he makes absolutely no money when selling.

I have to admit I am an avid reader of The Spatula, and use it to keep my pharmaceutical knowledge sharp and current. For example, I now know that opiates such as opium, morphine and cocaine should not be administered to infants as a sleeping aid.
