Brian, is that w512 Ruth genuine? I was under the impression that W512’s with that color lettering were reprints. I could be wrong.

Here is one link showing the same color lettering. Go down to the second image. Now, as far as finding another example with the same color background? I am distracted by the Steelers game. https://allvintagecards.com/1925-27-...trip-card-set/ Last edited by Brian Van Horn; 10-01-2023 at 12:06 PM. |

October Pickup
Not a big card, but picked up a 60 Clemente off a board member at a small show in the Dallas area this weekend!
My first dip into vintage that is not T206. I feel like the dam just burst open into a new world I haven’t experienced and it’s awesome

Very excited to have snagged this in the Brockelman auction to add to my pre-war Memphis collection! Gives me at least one example from the 4 different card sets Memphis players were featured in (T206, T210, T211, T213)

The Sporting News Supplement is probably the more accessible early Wallace. He has two earlier issues - A card/photo from the 1898-99 National Copper Plate Company portfolio series and a pin from the 1898 Cameo Pepsin Gum set - but those are a lot more difficult to find. From the early pieces of Wallace, there is also the 1902 W600 and the 1903 Breisch Williams....but those are also impossible to find. Probably the most accessible of the early issue is the 1906 Fan Craze.

Picked up a few photos tonight.
Some guy named Lou Lewis from 1921? playing for the Hartford Senators. https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...auctions-sale/ 1920 Ruth Paul Thompson series #4 image. Not the most flattering, but not sure I will see this again. The Mantle World Series injury image (to pair w/ my ticket stub) IMG_5925.jpg IMG_5928.jpg IMG_5926.jpg

Val, Jennings contamination would cause EE-YAH syndrome, which causes both arms to involuntarily shoot skyward while simultaneously one bent leg is thrust upward. So far there are no reports of these symptoms, but the FDA is looking into that as well.
