How rare is this back actually? What sort of multiplier does the value see with this back? I’m still pretty new to t206 and just trying to learn as much as I can.

The PIEDMONT 460 Factory #42 cards are quite rare. To date, 72 subjects have been confirmed.
And those of us who have been putting together this PIEDMONT run (for at least 20 years) are convinced that this Check-list is complete...... ![]() PIEDMONT 460 Factory #42 confirmed list............ 350/460 Series......63 subjects (complete) Ames (hands over head) Baker Bender (no trees) Berger Bradley (bat) M. In my experience, pied fact 42 is a very tough back. However, as with most backs, some front—combos are tougher than others. For example, I am aware of only 3 examples of Tinker bat off in a fact 42, whereas I think yellow Chance and red Cobb are more available. Personally, I think fact 42 is tougher than brown hindu.
As for value, I find that scarcity does not often equate to value. Despite the fact that fact 42 is scarce, it’s the factory and series that make it scarce, not the back itself. Indeed, Piedmont is the most common back, and aside from the series-factory number, fact 42 looks just like all other piedmonts (maybe the blue is a little lighter). For this reason, I don’t think it brings the premium it should. It really comes down to back vs nuances of a back As an aside, I also find that Sweet Cap 350, 25 can be a major pain in the ass to locate in many combos. Ryan said it perfectly. Quite a rare back, nuanced, but definitely underpriced for how rare it is.

Circa early 1990's, I started a PIEDMONT 350-460 Factory 42 run. I neared it's completion (90 %) by 2006. Then, I decided to break it up.
Subsequently, I helped four Net54 collectors (including David Hall) to complete their "42" runs by trading from my set of these cards. I kept my PIEDMONT 350-460 Factory 42 blue Chase, since he is my favorite T206. Also, I kept this Mike Donlin card since this card is part of my Donlin run. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . |

Nice Ted, kept my example as well. As mentioned Tinker is oddly tough (thanks Ryan!).
