Default Cycle 460 Journey Down To One!!! *Update 6/7/23*

Thanks to another great hobbyist I was able to knock off three of the five Cycle 460s I needed. The journey is down to two: Seymour, portrait (only 1 graded) and Cobb, Bat Off (if anyone has one I would love to try to work out a deal).

I can scratch the Cobb off the list!!!!

So many good people in this hobby have helped me along in this journey. When I was down to 10 I was having a hard time finding any of them for sale and questioning whether to continue the journey. Within 6 months I was able to obtain five to get the number down to five. It had been a while since I even had a chance obtain one and about to possibly sell of my (1 of 1). Then this offer came along and reduced the number to two!

Maybe some day the Cycle 460 journey will be complete, it has been quite a journey to get to this point.

Thanks to all the good people in the hobby!

Lee

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

Congratulations....Lee

If I recall correctly, you and I both started these T206 adventures circa 2006.

You chose CYCLE 460 and I chose AMERICAN BEAUTY 460.

I don't think either of us expected that we would still be searching for T206's
to complete our respective runs 16 years later.

I need only one (Camnitz) to complete my 74-card run.

GOOD LUCK in getting those last two CYCLE 460 cards.

Lee,

Give us some insight to the journey!

Is there a card you thought would be easier to obtain that proved to be elusive?

Is there a card you thought would be difficult that turned out easier?

Very impressive with the run!

Here is a little break down collecting the Cycle 460s.

I got back into collecting T206s in 2000, I already had 80 of them. I had decided I would collect up to Demmitt and O'Hare and try to get at least one card of each back. I achieved up to Drum on the back and up to Demmit and O'Hara.

Along the way I got my tenth Cycle 460 (Conroy) and decided it might be fun to try to get all of them, not knowing at the time exactly how many there were. This was prior to PSA putting back designations on their slabs and pop reports seldom factored in the equation.

So the question of who was surprisingly easy and who was unexpectedly tough I had not idea. The Overall yellow is a 1 of 1 in the pop reports at this time and bought before there was any real pop report for Cycle 460s, so I had no idea it was an extremely tough card.

I took the time about ten years ago to verify the fronts and backs. The last one I was able to verify was Schaefer and within a year two more showed up. I am sure there are more ungraded out there that are not accounted for, but only time will tell if and when they show up.

It has been quite the journey with a few bumps in the road including someone using my needs to start their collection. He collected for about 3 years and then sold them off. At that point my needs list was only in trusted hands that came through multiple times.

A bit of a side note, when David Hall was making his run for a master set I never bid on an auction.

Thanks again to everyone that has helped and everyone that makes tis hobby so great.

Lee
