Default More Vintage Madness - A Sign the End Times are upon us?

This "card" sold last night on eBay for $485 dollars in a GMC auction.

I know we're in crazy town now with prices throughout the hobby, so the fact I paid less than this for a nice Ex-MT copy a dozen or so years ago is no surprise...but, oh, this hurts to see. I later sold my '67 set, and am only now getting back into vintage. I knew I'd be paying more than the last time around, but something like this really makes me question my collecting goals.

Geez. Imagine being one of Bill Denehy’s grandkids, trying to pick up a card of grandpa, and having to spend that kind of money on something that doesn’t even have half his name.

Wow that’s about $50 more than I paid for mine a year ago which was well centered, had nice corners and just a small ink mark on the back.

Not too many years ago (maybe 5) just before attending the National I checked closing bids on Ebay for a PSA 7 Seaver rookie. The going rate was in the 600-700 dollar range. I guess this is another set i'll never complete.

Wow. The even crazier thing is that the 3rd, 4th and 5th place bids were all above $400.
