....sold for "only" $20k with no buyer's premium. I watch that card a little bit due to its historic rise and the fact that I used to own a '6'. That is a low price as of late. Is that due to the market declining, PWCC declining, or a little of both?? The same card sold less than a week ago from REA for over $44k.

The PWCC auction had some fascinating results on the modern side (Brady auto rooke, unnumbered, for $2.8 mn?!). I thought the Robinson was inline with other ebay sales of that quality. The one in REA is just a much, much nicer example than the "5" holder it was in. The PWCC card was steps below that one.

I have seen a number of " steals" from auctions. I don't know the one you are talking about specifically and could be a significant condition difference despite the grade, but could also be what you mentioned re: the card not being seen by Ebay buyers or the card not being seen by all buyers in the market for that card.

Well, it's not a very attractive example. The registration is pretty messed up. I do see some strong sales though. A PSA 5 Bowman Mantle sold for $38,400 and a Topps Mantle in PSA 1 hit $40,800! ![]() ![]() |

The PWCC example was a horrid looking 5. Its not in the same class as the REA example which recently ended.
Two totally different cards in my opinion no mater what the flip reads.

Omg the swell gum! Now it HAS to be a mainstream gum card..or tobacco, or candy.

Honestly, aren't most 48 Leaf cards fugly in appearance?
It's not just Jackie. The set as a whole is pretty bland IMO.
