| ‘Support Negro League Baseball’ matchbox

This sold on eBay today. Another example, same seller, sold a few weeks ago. Average sale price about 20 bucks. This is a fantasy item, right? The images are well known 19th Century trade cards shrunk-to-fit. The Negro Leagues didn’t start until well into the 20th Century. The seller DID describe them as 1930s, but the whole idea of a period campaign to support negro league baseball seems preposterous to me. Perhaps even more preposterous if these images were used to create this item recently. |
