Anyone know anything about a 1946 Montreal Royals Watch?

Hey everyone,

Around 10 years ago, Hunt had an auction where they had a watch that was supposed to have been awarded to the Montreal Royals upon winning the International League Championship.

To the best of my knowledge only one such watch has ever hit the market and I'm unsure whether such a watch was team-issued or if a player (or someone connected to the team) decided to create the watch for themselves or their spouse etc.

I was hoping someone might have info on this.

Hi Jeff,

I recall pitcher Steve Nagy’s 1946 Montreal Royals championship watch appearing in an auction some time back. Likely they were issued to all players, not unusual for high level minor league pennant winners in that era.

International League BTW, not “Independant” League.
