Cool transfers...never seen them before. Here are a couple: Kewpie kids and James Cagney, both on Zeenut backsides, and further blessed with Buck (I Found Some Available Space) Barker's handwriting:.

they certainly look very similar to the 1909-10 German Transfers, but they are different. Here's a Leach for comparison to your first one shown:

Here are the Tattoos/Transfers that I have on my back stamp site. The airship that Jobu posted already is included.

Thanks for posting; this is what I first thought when I saw it.

I love items like this, not so much for the sports content (which is interesting) but more for the time capsule properties such an artifact offers. This book offers a quick snapshot into this young man’s life - his entire life in front of him, not many cares in the world other than learning about earth science and putting pictures of his heroes in his school notebook. He’d go on to live through two world wars, a depression, the rise of America as a superpower, and massive industrial & technological change. He’d get married, have multiple children and live until the ripe old age of 86, passing in 1983.

And now 37 years after his passing, we marvel at the whimsical nature of some pictures pasted onto one of his possessions - something probably tossed in a box and long forgotten, set aside as his life unfolded.

There are many ways to “collect” this hobby and the human aspect of these artifacts has always fascinated me.
