Does anyone think this autograph would pass or if I should spend the money to get a quick opinion?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

I do not think it would pass, and certainly would not feed them more money for their opinion (which is no better than the people right here).
My vote is no good, and the thick silver sharpie does not help its cause. Let’s see what others say before you even consider submitting it. |

Ok thanks, yea I am very skeptical on the sharpie myself, but I was thinking he maybe signed it later on. I’ve seen some pretty horrific autographs before that pass somehow

Yeah, I’ve seen it a number of times as well. I just wouldn’t fork out the money on such a low probability.

I don't know if the auto is good or not, but the fact that a silver sharpie was used doesn't mean a thing. You sure wouldn't want it signed with a black or blue sharpie as it would not show up very well. Just my opinion.

In 1962 he signed my first baseman's mitt in ball point pen. I continued to use the mitt for several years and the autograph disappeared.
This isn't relevant to the op, sorry. ![]()

It's hideous and I do not believe it to be authentic either. Couldn't give it to me.

If it's actually signed with a silver sharpie, then there is an issue. According to the Sharpie history, "In 2004, Sharpies were introduced in metallic silver, gold, and copper." That means 5 years after Joe D passed away.
