I was the only bid on a lot, so I think that means I’m the winner - very excited! In the 25+ years of bidding with REA that has never happened to me. This either makes me terribly astute or ignorant of the market.

Congrats. What did you win?
And I love how we use the term “win”. In your case, as the solo bidder, you probably are a winner. But I feel “winner” is a back-handed compliment after I have paid beyond top dollar to get that title. |

That is always nice as you can call it an early night if that was the only card you had interest in. I really like REA's closing method. Very to the point with no late night or should I say early morning disappointment

We all talk about winning auctions. Winning just means you were the guy willing to pay the most.

And you are correct. I should have titled it, “I won the right to purchase the card for a higher price than thousands of seasoned, well-informed collectors decided to.” It’s amazing how this cardboard stuff turns grown men (in my case old man) into giddy children. Hope I didn’t screw this up. Last edited by wondo; 03-24-2019 at 05:16 PM. Reason: Don’t know English |

Just after 7pm and I’m biting my nails because I’m still ahead on more lots then I anticipated at this point. Would be happy winning three of the ten....of course I’ve been through enough of these I may still lose all ten.

Broad Leaf 460's are super rare! I think I owned that Konetchy card at one point. Congrats!
I was able to snag 2 Carolina Brights, 2 of the Brown Hindus, 1 American Beauty and one of the D359 Rochester Baking. The prices on the T206 seemed quite strong I thought. |

When I placed my bid on an item in this auction, I briefly dreamed of this happening with it. Then about 19 seconds later I was out bid. Congrats! I hope you thoroughly enjoy it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lost count on the follow ups and I'm out! Sitting as under bidder on half a dozen lots! Good luck to all.

Some solace - knowing that I pushed someone to pay (over pay?) just a bit more than I or anyone else was willing to.
Some regret thinking just to be willing to pay a bit more and.........nah - I reached my limit. Under bidder on about a half dozen lots and I'm done! Congrats to the ultimate winners (auction still open) - price aside, you got some GREAT cards! |

Hooray! I won something too. The T227 lot of Baker and Bender. This completes my "set" of four baseball players.
I really wanted the Diaz Ruffing. I'm jealous of whoever won that. And what was the deal with the E107 Phillipi? $14K, far more than many HOFers. |

Did anyone track the N162 King Kelly PSA 2? Visually might be the nicest in existence.
Thoughts on price? It more than doubled what I was thinking it would go for. |

Used to think the same way but eventually realized that many of the "anonymous" bidders I was costing money were good friends. It affords me neither pleasure nor solace but not much we can do about it. These auctions are a bit like a brawl with blindfolds on.
