1908 World's Champion Base Ball Game

Until earlier today, I thought I knew about and had at least seen images of all 19th Century and early 20th Century baseball board games that are in the wheelhouse of my collecting interests. But then I saw the advertisement shown below, and I am blown away.

Has anyone ever seen the actual game? It sure looks like it made it to production since it was available in this catalog. It is not in Dr. Mark Cooper's book and I have never seen it anywhere else. The box features portraits of Cubs players Frank Chance and John Kling, as well as Fielder Jones and Billy Sullivan of the White Sox. Appears to have great graphics too.

Would love to find out if this game exists out there somewhere!

Never saw the game or even a picture of the cover. It looks amazing. Is it possible that none have survived?

Hey Kris, I'm a big fan of 19th and early 20th century baseball board games as well, and I've never seen this image before.
The price listed would equate to roughly $60.00 to $65.00 in 2018 dollars, so this might be a factor for the apparent lack of surviving examples.

How much was this game ? It states in the ad ,per dozen, and then at the end of the item description it states 1/4 dozen package. It lists $ 7. Does it mean 1/4 dozen for $ 7 and $20 for a dozen games ??? I'm confused like always.

Mike, we're pretty sure that's $7.20 for one dozen packages of a "1/4 dozen" games -- in other words, 36 games,
20 cents per game to the retailer.
Compare the "Ten Pins" prices at top centre and the "Dissected Map" prices at the upper right.
These were wholesale prices to vendors and distributors, so at very roughly the equivalent of what, $4.00 per game then
in today's money, expect a significant mark-up by the retailer -- eight, ten, twenty adjusted bucks to the consumer.
