Picked these up the other day. I really like these Dexter Press Postcards. Maybe I am missing something but why aren't they more popular? Thought I would start a thread for post war postcards. Let's see what everyone has.

There are lots of underappreciated postcards. At least that keeps the price down for the rest of us.

Glenv,
A quick flashback there! Grew-up not too far away from the stadium in Denver and started going to Bears games in the late-70's when I was a little league player. Went to games regularly through the early 80's, even with the name change to the Zephyrs and then lost track a few years later. Then the Rockies came in and the Zephyrs shipped out..... Nice Postcards! Dave |

I believe this is from the 1976 team issued postcard set. It is the same photo on Reggies 76 Topps AL All Star card.

Bad info on that 76 Jackson Topps card. Earlier someone sent me a "card that never was" and used the photo from that postcard and photoshopped a 76 card. I believe his actual 76 topps card has him in an A's uniform.

just another reason why I like Net54. I never heard of Dormand postcards but after seeing the photo quality I had to Google the name which led me to further research.

The first card showing showing Johnny Bench.
PSA Write-Up 1967 Cincinnati Reds Team Issue Postcard. This is the first card listed in the Bench Master Set. It offers a black-and-white shot of a young Bench with a facsimile autograph in blue and the team name in red below it. Hollinden believes these were sold at the stadium and at the local Reds gift shop. His PSA EX-MT 6 is the only graded example. "I can't imagine there are a lot of these because Bench didn't get called up until the middle of the summer [August]," said Hollinden. "I'm not sure when they produced them, but I have to think that it wasn't until he came up. ![]() |

Man, “almost” makes a person want to become a Reds fan! The Reds team issues, Jays, etc for the Reds are some of the nicest items I’ve seen. That Bench pictured is one of my favorites; the design and photo are top notch. Also, the JDM postcard of Rose is such a cool item.

Thank you for starting this thread. The Dexter Press Set is a great set of postcards, lots of stars and HOFers, each teams has several cards in the set, high gloss and wonderful color photography. There's a couple hundred + in the complete set, occasionally you can still find complete sets for sale. One reason I think these cards aren't more popular is the problem with storing or displaying the cards. The problem with these cards is the high gloss finish, unfortunately they have a tendency to stick together if stored front to front and they will also stick to the four pocket plastic sheets if stored for a long period of time. Otherwise I think they and the Dormand Set are the nicest looking sets of color player postcards and each can be collected at a reasonable price. Good luck with the collection.

I collected Orioles team-issued postcards from the early 60s until about 1985 or so. They made a set available every year and them updated them as the season went along. It was a fun chase.
I also collect random JD McCarthy postcards and have some assorted ones in my Billy Pierce player collection. The Mack Jones card came from Jarry Park in 1969. Jim Palmer is inscribed to my son Brooks. IMG_00rr01.jpgIMG.jpg IMG_00s01.jpgIMG_0aa0s01.jpg IMG_0001.jpgIMG_0002.jpg IMG_0007.jpgIMG_0015.jpg IMG_0036.jpgIMGq_0005.jpg

And some more - the first one is a very rare postcard of Busch (aka Buffalo) Stadium in Houston circa 1955. Home of the Houston Buffaloes of the Texas League.

Great postcards posted above. Especially love the color ones.
Anyone know the story on this? Were we living in the Upside Down? Not a reversed negative - checking the '4' and the 'LA' on the hat. Why in the wide wide world of sports would Duke pose righty?
