I've been collecting cards for years, but going to the National peaked my curiosity for memorabilia, especially autographs. My grandma gave this piece to me almost a decade ago. It seems to be a program from an MLB all star team touring in Japan. Couldn't find much else about it... could anyone tell me how collectible this might be and just tell me more about it in general? Apparently her and my grandpa got Eddie Mathews and billy martin's autograph there as well, which is the coolest part to me. Not looking to sell it, but was just curious if people collect stuff like this. Thanks for any input!

That's awesome! I love touring and barnstorming items (I just actually picked up a 1953 program from the tour Jackie Robinson ran).
Not sure on the value since I've never seen one before and couldn't find this one in a quick Google search. The only ones I came across were in Japanese. I would imagine most of the programs were. Would you be willing to scan all the pages? I'd love to see more of it. It's really cool. The team they fielded was pretty darn impressive as well. Maybe not like the 1931 and 1934 tours which featured guys like Gehrig (in both) and Ruth (in 1934) but still really impressive. Edit: Some links to other programs from the Japan Tour http://dec14.hugginsandscott.com/cgi...m.pl?lotno=887 http://sports.mearsonlineauctions.com/lot-73050.aspx Last edited by Topnotchsy; 08-21-2017 at 09:15 PM. |

Thanks! I think it's a cool item, so doesn't really matter if it's collectible I guess. Here are the rest of the pages- mostly advertisements and short bios ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I believe this to be a ticket stub from the tour. I don't know if Eddie was depicted on every ticket but this is the only example I have seen. I would hope that each player may have had their own pics. That would be a challenging "Set" to complete.

That is not a ticket for the game. It says "Lucky Card". If the number in red was chosen you could win a prize listed below.
Although there is no date listed it says U.S. All-Stars vs Orions which was played on October 23rd in Tokyo at Korakuen Stadium. The Orions won the game 5-4. #1 Nikon Camera (1 winner) #2 Morinaga Candy Set (8 winners) #3 Morinaga Biscuits (20 winners) #4 Lion Brand Toothpaste (40 winners) #5 Lion Brand Toothbrush (200 winners)
